Easy going – the light-weight aluminium leadscrew Easy masters perfect motion - even in adverse conditions

Material choice is very important for high-tech performance, and that goes for leadscrews too. Easy is a real lightweight. The spindle unit consists of a rolled aluminum lead screw with a friction-resistant coating (hard anodised) and a high-performance technopolymer nut. The light-weight spindles reach efficiencies of over 80% and are ideal for challenging climatic conditions with large temperature fluctuations and in high-load situations. The thread geometry makes the spindle unit relatively insensitive to dirt and tilting moments and the special profile prevents the nut from jamming.

Despite being low weight and having a density of 2.7 g per cm³, this high strength, light aluminium metal has many positive material properties. The outcome is impressive - one metre of Easy 16 mm x 90 mm screw weights only 0.533 kg compared to the same one metre steel spindle which weighs 1.549 kg.

The aluminium threads are significantly strengthened by thread rolling and are made even more resistant by hard anodising the outer surface layer. This reduces additional reduction of the friction coefficient and also outstanding sliding properties which, coupled with the corrosion protection, ensures long service life.
