In Switzerland, a great deal can be achieved with a completed apprenticeship that combines theoretical and practical knowledge.
Matthias Rohrer is developing his career with a particular fascination for the polymechanic profession
Apprenticeships are a good springboard for the future. This is also shown by the following example of Matthias Rohrer. He followed his personal interests and completed a 4-year apprenticeship as a polymechanic at thread specialist Eichenberger "auf der Burg". Matthias Rohrer wanted to get ahead in his job. He has decided to continue his professional career in this internationally active company.
In a relaxed and friendly manner, he explains what prompted him to make this decision: "My apprenticeship has great personal significance for me. I enjoy this deep connection and it gives me pleasure to pass it on.

The Eichenberger team is delighted to have been accepted as a vocational trainer
Since successfully completing his apprenticeship, Matthias Rohrer has worked in production in Burg and as deputy team leader at the Eichenberger plant in Menziken. During this time, he has expanded his specialist knowledge, gained valuable experience and taken on responsibility.
When a former apprentice becomes a training manager, it makes the apprenticeship even more unique. At Eichenberger, of course, there is also a great sense of pride. The future specialists are trained by a "spirited Eichenberger professional". The thread specialist from Burger seems to be doing a lot of things right!
"Our screw drives are used wherever something needs to be moved. Eichenberger surprises with creative developments that enable completely new drive solutions, even in space technology. "That's really great," enthuses Matthias Rohrer. He is fascinated by programming the highly complex CNC production machines. Different age generations work together in the company with passion. The young professional appreciates the fact that he can always play a full part. He is particularly motivated by promoting and training qualified junior staff. And - Matthias Rohrer is of the opinion that young people enrich the atmosphere in the company with their spontaneity and freshness.

What you like to do, you do well
As training manager, Matthias Rohrer is responsible for guiding and supporting apprentices in academic, technical and often personal matters. Above all, however, it is his enthusiasm for the profession and the industry that he wants to pass on. Lively and fascinated, he explains: "Vocational training is very important to us. We train the next generation of threading experts ourselves, they are our future. I am delighted to be a part of this. My ambition and enjoyment of my work are automatically transferred to the apprentices and their work performance. I am convinced of that".
Apprentices have the opportunity to gain knowledge and work at the Burg, Menziken and Sempach plants and, on an internship basis, at Festo in Scharnhausen (state-of-the-art flow production - from classic mechanics to human-robot cooperation and pioneering technologies). Eichenberger once again has vacancies for apprenticeships with immediate effect.
